Jurnal Aplikasi Statistika & Komputasi Statistik
Vol. 17 No. 2 (2025)This issue comprises eight articles authored by 37 contributors affiliated with a diverse set of national and international institutions across Indonesia, the United States, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, China, Qatar, Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, and New Zealand, including universities, national statistical offices, and research and policy institutions. The articles address diverse methodological and applied topics in statistics and data science, including fuzzy geographically weighted clustering for identifying air pollution vulnerability, Bayesian distributional modeling in MultiBUGS, small area estimation for out-of-school children with disabilities, spatial analysis of food security and its institutional determinants, fuzzy time series forecasting for agricultural economic indicators, satellite imagery–based classification of coastal abrasion, geospatial big data approaches to estimating regional economic activity, and the integration of multi-criteria decision analysis with machine learning for fine-scale mapping of access to safe drinking water.

The contributing institutions include IAIN Palangka Raya, Universitas Palangka Raya, Politeknik Statistika STIS, BPS-Statistics from various regional offices, the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction, Universitas Islam Jakarta, PKN STAN, and the Center for Industrial, Services, and Trade Research under the National Research and Innovation Agency (Indonesia), alongside international collaborators from the University of Tsukuba (Japan), Jiangsu University (China), and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). The research presented spans a diverse range of topics, including survival support vector machine analysis on separated couples during the COVID-19 outbreak, LLM implementation in survey interviews, quantile regression with constrained B-splines for modeling schooling and household expenditure, binary and traditional partial least squares structural equation modeling for poverty dimensions and social protection, geospatial analysis on hotel occupancy rates, partial proportional odds model application for household food insecurity in Papua, and the estimation of gross regional domestic product per capita using machine learning and geospatial data.

Topics include household food consumption patterns, weather prediction accuracy using MOS, rural development mapping with fuzzy clustering, and sentiment analysis of transportation electrification. Other studies explore ICT's impact on regional economies, evolutionary algorithms for course timetabling, spatial dependencies in environmental quality, and small area estimation using satellite imagery.

The research presented covers a diverse range of topics, including stunting prevalence modeling using multi-predictor truncated spline nonparametric regression by authors from Universitas Airlangga; the impact of digital literacy on poverty as mediated by education, demography, and employment by researchers from Universitas Syiah Kuala; maternal mortality rate analysis in Papua using geographically weighted Poisson regression by Universitas Airlangga authors; human development index modeling in East Java using geographically weighted logistic regression by Universitas Airlangga; regional economic modeling using Geographically Weighted Lasso by Universitas Mataram; prediction interval performance in Random Forest for poverty data analysis by authors from Universitas Pamulang and IPB University; and export-import forecasting using multi-output back-propagation deep neural networks by authors from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember and BPS-Statistics Indonesia.
